wowww I can't wait 2 weeks till pgl

Hi to everyone at Upton especially Y5J and Y2A. We have settled into Singapore and are slowly learning Mandarin (Ni Hao means hello).
We miss our friends and teachers very much so a big NI HAO to you guys!
The best part about our new school is you can wear any shoes you want but no flip flops (they call flip flops - slippers here!)
School starts just before 8am and finishes at 2:30pm and we get homework every night!
We live nearly 20 storeys high and we still get gecko's and other lizards in our house, there is a nest of baby gecko's on my balcony!
It is "Spring Break" for us in 3 weeks which is like your easter break.
The rainy season is almost over and it is always hot even though the sun doesnt always shine. We have air conditioners not radiators here and everyone calls rubbers "erazers"!! and rubbish "trash or garbage".
Also when you give or take anything from someone it is good manners to always do it with both hands at the same time!

Just a quick note to say two little words that mean a lot - 'Thank You'. Yes, it is easy to take for granted the care and thought that goes into your child's education and welfare during their school life. Including the time staff took from their own no doubt busy home lives to give our children the PGL opportunity, thank you especially for that, they will remember the experience for many many years to come.

We will miss you lots Upton!

Can't belive that we have only got like two weeks left until summer holidays and then we will come back and I will be in year 6 SCARY!!!! I am gonna miss mr Jones though AWWWW LOL

Hi Everybody ! It was so good to see you all again very recently when I visited the school. It was good fun and it brought back a lot of memories for me. Thanks to Ms Cottia Howard for kindly letting me do this.

My Spanish school is pretty good and there is about 450 kids here, but the bad news is only 3 kids and 1 teacher that speak english....yawn.... Never mind though because I can speak Spanish pretty well now and I understand everything they say. They also give us loads of homework to do every night and even in the holidays they give us more.

We finish school for the summer holidays this Thursday and we are off for about 11 weeks. The weather is now getting hotter so I will be spending lots of time in our swimming pool or going to a few of the the beaches that are close to where we live.

Me and my Dad are doing a You Tube Site where I will be putting my videos and pictures of what I get up to and what my life is like in Spain. It should be good fun to do and I hope a few of you might go and have a look at it very soon. At moment there are no photos or videos up there but there will be in a few days time.

Hi everybody im in y6D my name is louise and i think that upton is a great school to be happy and learn in.

My daughter is leaving in July and together with my sons time at Upton, we as a family, have been part of Upton School for 11 years. It will be very sad to see our daughter leave upton for the last time. I am very glad our children attended Upton Scool. It is too easy to take what we are familiar with for granted. I wish the school, staff and children all the best for the future.

I'm coming to the fayre on the 25th with my dad who's doing a show with loads of animals like rabbits, tarantulas, cockroaches, snakes, and all sorts, come if you want to see! Oh and hi Mrs Nelson ur a great teacher.

Yesterday on Friday the 13th of May Grant Fielder came to school he did some amazing tricks on ramps on his bike he did back flips and loads more etc thanks to Ms Bezant for organising it it was great thanks

As a new Foundation Governor I attended both the Infants' & Juniors' Carol Services this week. I was so impressed with the quality of reading and the enthusiasm of the children's singing.

I miss this school soo much !! I was in y6n in 2007 (i think) that was the best year ever !! I hear that the choir is going well i miss the choir but i am doing great at my school archway i have been in every musical performance they have put on !! I hope everyone does ok in their S.A.T.S this year and if you put in the work you get good results ! I also hope everyone gets into the school they want to and dont worry if you dont get into a grammar school I didn't and i'm doing fine I am getting high level sixes in english and high level fives in maths i am also getting mid sixes in science and low sevens in music ! I have lots of options of what i want to do for my job but the one i most want to do is performing arts I love performing and dedicate everything to it . If you have not been behaving at upton try and make a fresh start at your new school misbehaving gets you nowhere in life .

You have great teachers at upton so dont take it for granted .

Being a pupil at Upton was one of the happiest times of my life. I was at USL all my primary years KS1 and 2, it's amazing how many teachers are still around. The education this school offers is one of the best in the country and I'm proud to be a former student. Good luck to the school in the future and the teachers past, present and future. Many thanks to all of the children and staff from the Infants for the wonderful Easter Service in the Church on Thursday. The use of multimedia showing the pictures created by the children were wonderful to see. A great way to spend the morning off work. Cheers again.

I used to go to this school from 1971. We used to get a taxi down from the farm on Upton Hill with a girl called Andrea. Lovely memories of the infants and playtimes outside.

I would just like to thank all the teachers who i worked with on my work experience and the headteacher for letting me do my work experience at the school. I would like to say hi to reception and year 1 classes i worked with. I thouroughly enjoyed it. It was nice meeting the new teachers and seeing the ones that were there when i was. I hope super schools went ok and you raised a lot of money and had fun at the same time. Good luck to all the year 6's who are going to secondary school in September. See you all soon . Thanx to Mrs Long, Miss Grooves , Mrs Cordall and Mrs Mashiter for helping me in my work experience . It has helped me decide what i want to do after i leave Barnwood Park . Thanx again
