Governing Body

RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPOSITION
The School Governors delegate the daily management of the school to the Head Teacher, but they are ultimately responsible for the effective and efficient running of the school.  They meet regularly and are involved in decisions about the curriculum, the budget, the recruitment and selection of staff, the maintenance and improvement of the premises and also discipline. The Governors serve for a 4-year term.

 

The Governors hold monthly drop-in sessions on the last Monday of each month, between 3.30pm till 5.00pm in the ICT Suite.

 

Sessions are open to parents and appointments can be made at Reception.

The Governing Body also produces termly newsletters, to advise parents of current issues within the school.

The next newsletter will have the results of last terms Parent Survey.

LOCAL AUTHORITY GOVERNORS

Nominated by the County Council. They are usually members of the local community who have an interest in the school.

5 Governors are elected by the parents. A Parent Governor must have a child at the school at the time of election.

STAFF GOVERNORS

These are usually members of the local community who can bring some particular expertise to the Governing Body.

As we are a Church of England School, we also have 3 Foundation Governors:

Our 2 Deputy Heads, Gill Beszant and Mel Cordall, are Associate Members of the Governing Body.
