School Facilities

THE HALL/GYMNASIUM

Our school has a spacious, modern hall. This is the main area where the children gather together for assemblies and other whole school events. The sprung wooden floor and modern equipment make it ideal for gym and other sports activities. It is also possible to partition the hall into smaller working areas more suited to drama and dance sessions.
THE LIBRARY

The Library is a very popular place. Children regularly use it, whether it be for research in lesson time, reading with teachers and parents or simply for changing their books! The Library, due to its nature, is continually being updated so that children have access to the most recent books and authors. Being a well used resource, it is fortunate to have the backing of a number of parents who act as librarians and perform a wonderful job.
THE ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND AND FITNESS TRAIL

We now have two superb adventure playgrounds for our pupils to enjoy. Each has been purpose built to provide stimulating physical activities for the children. Near to the haven we have our infant adventure playground and out on our main field the Fitness Trail to challenge our older pupils in KS2. These were both made possible thanks to donations from our Friends Association.
THE HAVEN AND WILDLIFE AREA

The Haven, as its name implies, is a refuge from the hurley-burley of the playground. Pupils are allowed to visit the area to play chess, draughts or to pursue quiet activities. Adjacent to the Haven is the Wildlife Area, which provides a stimulus for cross-curricular activities, but is primarily of benefit for scientific studies. Both of these areas were developed and funded by the Friends of Upton School and members of the teaching Staff.
SCHOOL PREMISES HIRE

The School Premises are available to hire for private or group meetings. Enquiries or request for a booking form should be made to the School Office.
